The Community Cupboard is open to individuals and families in the Elk Rapids School District who need support.

Join us for grocery pick-ups every other week on Tuesdays from 4:00 - 6:30 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 - 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, on the corner of Chippewa and Spruce Streets in Elk Rapids, Michigan.

Groceries provided include cereal, juice, peanut butter, fresh fruits and vegetables, ground beef, chicken, hotdogs, bread, soup, pasta, macaroni and cheese, eggs, canned vegetables and fruit, and many other items, including fresh fruits and vegetables.

Special food baskets are provided for Easter, the 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

In addition to grocery pick-ups, we offer home delivery for those who do not have transportation or are unable to drive. If you need this type of support, please contact us to set up delivery.

  • To qualify for the Community Cupboard assistance, a family should meet the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

    The Community Cupboard uses 200% of the Federal Poverty Level as the qualification.

    For example, a family of 4 using the 2021 poverty guideline, is $26,500.

    To qualify for the Community Cupboard this family of 4’s income should not exceed $53,000.

  • There is requirement to provide proof of residency but no requirement to provide proof of income.

  • We can help families with their grocery bills and some other basic expenses upon request and as funds are available.
