About Us

The Elk Rapids Community Cupboard is a food pantry that was founded in March 1983 by a coalition of seven churches to address food insecurity within the Elk Rapids area. We started operations with 26 volunteers who provided food to five families in need.

Today, we are a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families in the Elk Rapids School District. We have grown to support over 100 people annually in our local community.

We are able to do this important work thanks to generous community members like you alongside local businesses, grants, and community groups.

We offer a variety of groceries, including cereal, juice, peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruit, ground beef, chicken, hotdogs, bread, soup, pasta, macaroni and cheese, eggs, and fresh fruit and vegetables from Food Rescue of Northwest Michigan, among other items.
